We are walking out in protest of the recently passed tuition hike. We know that the decision to implement the hike is now in the hands of Chancellor Goldstein and other top CUNY administrators. We need to send a clear message that we at Brooklyn College will not tolerate a tuition hike.
Why?
80% of the tuition hike goes to fill a gap in the state’s budget and does not go to improving our university! It is essentially a special tax for students, the very people to whom a $600 increase makes a huge difference! Can you afford it? Walkouts have worked before at CUNY!
